A Few Frugal Finds
These are just a few items that I found for Spring/Summer. I love shopping… when I can and I’m pretty frugal! I like to stretch a dollar and get more bang for my buck! If I really like and want a piece, I will shell out on it, but for the most part, I’d rather not!
This small over the body purse is great for any season. I’ve been looking for one that I liked and didn’t cost much for about a month. I found this at Target (which is becoming one of my favorite stores) for only $14.99!!!

I wasn’t really a fan of the wedge heel last year. Now I’m in love with it! I found these at a store called It’s Fashion and I fell in love with them! They were only $24.99!

Another wedge heel! I got these from Payless! Yes… Payless! They were $18.99… I think. If not, they weren’t any more than $20.

Last, but not least… ANOTHER wedge heel! These are from another one of my favorite stores… Ross! I can always find a great deal there! I once didn’t have the patience to shop there. I’m glad I’ve learned patience! These were $18.99.

I can’t wait until the nice weather is here so I can get in these!

Dating Married Men
This is something that I just don’t respect! So I see this guy that I know is married… Out with someone other than his wife… Really? It’s wrong on so many levels, but the thing that bothers me the most is the fact that his “date” is okay with it. Like how are you okay with that? I’m still out right now and I just had to get that off my chest. Maybe I’ll speak more on this later. Until then….

My Transition to Natural Hair!
Why did I decide to go natural?
The first time that I attempted, I just wanted to try something different. I was tired of my straight and plain relaxed hair. It was so boring! So I went about two months w/o a relaxer and then I decided to do a sew in to help with the transition. I kept it in for 2-3 months. Little did I know, that would hurt me more than help me! After removing the sew in, I had no idea what to do with my two textures! I had watched videos on YouTube, but I hadn’t researched nearly as much as I should have. So of course… I resorted back to my relaxer! That lasted for about a month or two. During those couple of months, I was finding more natural vloggers on YouTube and I became obsessed with natural hair!
Second attempt… The sew had wreaked havoc on my hair! I was fed up and I wanted healthy hair! When I started transitioning, my hair was in the worst state that I can ever remember it being in! It was awful and depressing! It just felt thin and brittle. I had split ends galore! I began transitioning again. This time I knew that I had to really take care of my hair. I planned to transition for about a year. After 6-7 months, I’d had enough of two textures and I was in love with my curly roots! I had a serious case of HIH (hand in hair) and I still do!
I had worn a straw set for about 2 weeks and a few people thought I had already done the Big Chop. I loved the straw set! So the day after washing out the straw set, I came home from work, grabbed my scissors and spray bottle, and my TWA (teeny weeny afro… I had no idea what TWA was at first) was born!
Here are a few pictures to show my transitioning journey! These are all from my second transitioning period.

This is about 1-2 months after my last relaxer. - July 2010

This is when I realized how damaged my hair was (not sure if you can tell) and decided to give it another try! - July 2010

Transitioning - My 1st straw set - September 2010

Sew in - October 2010

I was loving my texture! - November 2010

Another transitioning style - November 2010

2nd straw set… I loved this and this is what convinced me to go ahead and Big Chop! - December 2010

My TWA!!! This was 10 days after my Big Chop, which I did on 1/10/11! I have no idea why I didn’t take pictures of the BC!
